SUMMER MEANS PLANNING FOR THE FALL
(April 25, 2006)
What an Easter we had at First Presbyterian Church, McAllen.

I must say that few Easters can match the one we just completed. Everywhere I turned, there was another experience guided by the Spirit of God. I’m not suggesting that the Spirit of God isn’t always here, but that Spirit seemed more visible than on most occasions.

All this is to say thank you, each and every one of you, for making this such a meaningful experience of the true meaning of Easter.

Is it just me or was your experience of God’s presence stronger than usual? It seems that McAllen is special to God and that His Spirit is very present in the work and life of this congregation. Why else would you have had so many different experiences? For we both know that we learn more from experience than anything else. Do you wonder what God is preparing you for? What great adventures lay ahead for this part of the body of Christ? Keep watching the newsletter and bulletin for ways to be a part of the work and worship of First Presbyterian.

As we go through the summer, we will be planning for the fall and we want you to be a part of that planning. If you see a meeting you would like to attend whether to learn more about what we are doing or to offer your assistance with the work, please feel welcome. We can always use another interested believer to do the work of this particular church.

Keep us on your calendar this summer.

See you in church.

O’Quin
